Thermoforming molds

Going through a digital transition process can be time-consuming, but it can lead to widely innovative solutions.

With the brand-new industrial large format 3D printer Fabbrix® ELEMENTO V2.1 it is possible to make large sized thermoforming molds.

The picture shows an example of drapeforming, where both the material natural tendency to adhere to the mold and the use of vacuum channels are exploited.

Moreover, high performance materials, such as Fabbrix® Nylon Carbon (PA12 CF20), allow the user to take advantage of the mold for several cycles without deforming when in contact with the hot polymeric sheet.

The bigger the part, the greater the convenience, especially when dealing with small productions like in aircraft manufacturing.
