Active temperature control

When 3D printing in engineering-grade materials such as ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), PA (polyamide, nylon), GFRPs (glass fiber reinforced polymers), CFRPs (carbon fiber reinforced polymers), PPS (polyphenylene sulfide) or metal-filled materials, the temperature really matters.

These materials have a high glass-transition temperature, for this reason their processing requires the active control of the printing environment temperature.

In order to obtain the best mechanical properties from these materials, we have equipped our Fabbrix® ELEMENTO V2 with an active temperature control system. The closed chamber, insulated for thermal and acoustic insulation, is also provided with an air filtering system to eliminate nanoparticles and volatile organic compounds.

The main advantages deriving from the implementation of this system are:

  • better adhesion to the print bed
  • increased interlayer adhesion
  • reduction of internal stresses
